For 4 years, we’ve partnered with the VP of Clinical Operations and Program Management to enable high-quality project delivery and greater control over project outcomes.

The Evanston Group initially engaged with this Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company when the VP of Clinical Operations and Program Management needed help to bring clinical project management back in‐house after outsourcing it to contract research organization (CRO) partners. (The client needed higher quality project delivery and greater control over project outcomes than the CROs were providing.)  

We helped the client successfully repatriate those functions and the VP engaged us again to help merge and integrate the people, processes, systems, and ongoing clinical studies and data within the global Clinical Operations Functions after the acquisition of another Fortune 500 pharma.

Across both engagements, over the last four years The Evanston Group has provided a team of 35+ consultants, including specialized project and portfolio-level leaders, business process consultants, and subject matter experts (including financial budgeting, clinical documentation, and MHRA audit preparation).

LEAD CRAS AND CLINICAL PROJECT MANAGERS PROVIDE CRO OVERSIGHT AND DRIVE HIGH-PRIORITY CLINICAL STUDIES

The Evanston Group is helping this emerging biotech leader develop a high-priority vaccine.

The Evanston Group was introduced to this emerging biotech leader by the new Chief Development Officer, who had been an SVP at another of our client organizations. The client was preparing to launch clinical trials for a very high-priority vaccine – an initiative that obviously required an A-team, but for which the client didn’t want to move leaders from other products (at risk of sacrificing those products).  

So the client turned to us for help building a team almost entirely of consultants to lead what could be the company’s biggest program. To the client’s internal team of three we added ten consultants, including a couple of lead Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) and several clinical project managers, to provide CRO oversight and drive the Phase 2 and Phase 3 clinical trials.

INTERIM VP OF TRANSFORMATION TO TRANSITION CLINICAL MODEL FROM CRO TO FSP

This Fortune 1000 pharma approached The Evanston Group for help transitioning their clinical model from contract research organization (CRO) to functional service provider (FSP). We provided the client with a clinical subject matter expert to serve as the interim Vice President of Transformation leading the project. Alongside that expert, we brought in a couple of consultants to help document the client’s current state process and map out the future state process. Once that SOP was created, we brought in a clinical training specialist to help drive the adoption of the new processes within the client’s clinical operations team.
